📸STATE YOUTH TITLES 2026 - MAROOCHYDORE - PHOTOS OF THE WEEK📸

Eimeo had 10 competitors travel to Maroochydore last weekend to compete in the State Youth Titles for Surf Lifesaving. They joined athletes from Sarina, Mackay, Ayr, Arcadia, Townsville Picnic Bay and Forrest Beach SLSCs, coming together as part of the North Barrier Branch (NBB) Team. 🏄‍♀️🌊

NBB achieved an excellent result, finishing 9th overall on the leaderboard — a fantastic effort against strong competition. 👏

A big thank you to Team Manager David Dowden and our dedicated Age Managers for their time and commitment. A special call-out to our Eimeo coaches — Ross, Alecia and Dave — for the work they have put in to get our athletes prepared and competition-ready. 💪

Our competitors represented both the Branch and their Clubs with pride. Well done to all involved — you did us proud! 🏆🌊

FLYNN ARMSTRONG - U13

Flynn made it through to the finals for the swim where he finished 15th. He also made it into finals for the Ironman. As well as helping out to make up beach relay teams.

TAMSYN BANE - U12

Competed in beach events in U12: 1km run - 15th out of 33 athletes, Flags - 21st out of 56 athletes, Sprints - made quarter finals, Girls sprint relay - bronze medal, Mixed relay - quarter final, 2 x 500 m relay - 16th out of 30 teams.

2x500 m relay - Tamsyn ran her heart out and left nothing in the tank. She was able to get their team from 28th place to 16th place as the final result. She really excelled and loved that moment of the entire comp ☺️

HANNAH BARDEN - U12

Hannah's made it through to quarterfinals for her individual board race, semis for iron and finals for board relay. This was her first time in the surf south of Bargara and approached each race with determination and gusto. She loved the team events and further developing friendships with NBB teammates.

My takeaways from observing as a mum and official were seeing the sportsmanship and support provided by NBB for their teammates and other competitors. They all rallied around each other to celebrate their wins and provide support with any disappointments.

WILLIAM DITCHBURN -U12

GABRIELLE DOWDEN - U13

Gabrielle Dowden made states for water and beach events. Gave it her best and made a couple of PBs.  Although she is an all-rounder, her heart was set on the surf race. She made the final, however conditions were challenging and the competition fierce. She is proud of her efforts and will take the learning curve in her stride. She came home with a silver medal for the team March Past event.  She loves being part of the NBB team and is looking forward to states in 2027.

FLETCHER HEGERY  - U11

Fletch had an absolutely jam-packed program and left nothing in the tank. One very happy (but completely exhausted!) young man by the end!

 U11 Swim Teams – 3rd, Beach Relay – 2nd, All Age Relay – 3rd, Mixed Relay - 4th, 2 x 500m Relay - 5th, Plus: U11 Cameron Relay Final 11th, U11 Board Relay, U11 Board Race, U11 Board Rescue, U11 1km Run 16th, U11 Ironperson, U11 Swim Race, U11 Flags

HUGO HEGERTY - U13

Hugo attended his first State Titles this year for water and loved being part of the excitement of the event.  Hugo joined his friend Johnny in the 2km beach run even though he had not trained for running and had a smile on his face the whole way. Hugo made it through to the quarter final for the board race and performed well against southern competitors in his swim and iron person.

ISABELLE MALOUF - U13

 SAMAYAH MCCALL -U14

MAX MULLER -U11

Silver for u11 beach relay, Bronze for All Age Relay, 16th for flags, made quarter final for sprints, strong opening leg in the 2 x 500m relay

Overall had a great competition - gained lots of confidence, made some great friends and learned a lot. Thanks so much to all of the coaches and managers for their and effort - what a great experience.

NINA DICKER - U13

Nina was really happy to just be able to compete at the competition. Nina enjoyed all her events and was stoked she was able to compete in the girl's beach relay which they placed 4th in final.

Results 3rd in Flags, 5th Sprint Semi
