OUR HISTORY

Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club is the youngest club in Queensland, opening her doors in December 2000. Mackay Surf Life Saving Club was in the very spot we are today. They operated here from 1948-1960. The club was then run as a catamaran club until the Surf Club took over.

Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club is situated in the northern beaches of Mackay, at the start of the beautiful Whitsundays or the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Eimeo beach is arguably the most beautiful beach in Mackay with its crystal clear waters and views of the islands.

We may be young, but we are proud.  Eimeo SLSC is the youngest club in Queensland, opening in 2000.  The original Mackay Surf Life Saving Club operated from our location from 1948-1960, after which it became the Catamaran Club, and then finally us.

We are privileged to have our surf club located on one of the best beaches in Mackay in a sheltered bay that provides the perfect introduction to surf education and surf safety.  Our volunteer lifesavers are dedicated to keeping our beach safe, and our beach is patrolled for the duration of our nipper program.
