🛟 PROFICIENCIES – IMPORTANT INFO

This season’s proficiency process looks a little different, with a strong focus on CPR-GO, which introduces significant changes to how CPR roles are defined.

👉 Before attending a practical session, you must complete your online skills maintenance. The videos explain the new CPR processes, so this step is essential.

During practical proficiency sessions, the focus will be on scenarios, with each member rotating through roles to practice the updated CPR approach. In addition, proficiencies will cover:

  • Signals

  • Radio

  • Run/Rescue

📅 Proficiency Dates -  you need to contact Cynthia asap to work out a date

Join us for our annual Cutting of Ham

All members and their families are invited to attend the 2025 Cutting of the Ham.

The Cutting of the Ham is our annual celebration of the silly season and a thank you to everyone who volunteers and helps out around the Club.

Date: 19 December from 5pm, on the top deck of the surf club

What to bring: a plate to share for dessert or nibbles. The Club will supply baked hams, salads and breads.

Dress Code: Come dressed for the season - the sillier the shirt the better

Nippers

On December 7th, we will be hosting our Nippers Christmas Party.

The morning will run a bit differently than usual, with a special guest—Santa! We'll finish our beach activities in time to pack up before his arrival.

To help Santa with his visit, we invite you to bring a gift for your Nipper, which Santa will hand out. If you'd like, feel free to include any siblings in Santa’s sack as well. Santa has mentioned that his eyesight isn't quite what it used to be, so we ask that you wrap your gift and attach a large name label to make it easier for him to distribute.

To keep things simple and fair, we recommend a maximum spend of $30 per gift. We understand that some of our Nippers know who Santa is (Ross Gee) and might see their gifts beforehand, but if you'd prefer to keep it discreet, you're welcome to bring your gift in a bag to Nippers, and we’ll make sure it gets placed in our office. Jade, our Administrator, is in the office Friday and can accept gifts if it's more convenient for you.

Instead of our usual canteen, we’re asking everyone to bring a plate of food to share. To help with clean-up, we kindly ask that you pre-prepare the food as much as possible. We will have fridge space available in the morning if you need to keep anything cool. Our older Nippers usually enjoy helping with the food tables, using tongs and/or gloves to serve, but we'd greatly appreciate any adult supervision and help while setting out the food.

If you have any questions you are welcome to shoot me an email - nippers@eimeoslsc.com.au

We look forward to a fun and festive morning to finish our season.

Inter Branch

A shout out to our Queensland Country representatives from Eimeo SLSC. Flynn, Nina, and Gabby. They competed last weekend on the Gold Coast and put in some amazing performances mixing it with the competitors from down south, they should be very proud of their performances. They represented Eimeo SLSC and themselves superbly in all areas of the interbranch competition.

Branch Champs

Congratulations to everyone involved in our first carnival at Eimeo in a very long time. A significant amount of work went on behind the scenes to make this event such a success. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time before, during and after the carnival. It was fantastic to see new faces around the Club pitching in and getting involved. A special mention to Ross and Alecia for pulling everything together behind the scenes.

It was certainly a weekend of the unexpected, with both an Irukandji and a croc making an appearance. Who would have thought that possible?

But honestly—where else would you rather be than under the shade of the trees at Eimeo?
